United StatesIf you are a seasoned DIY’er, install is tedious but very doable. There are a number of variations in fastener type, size, and location between the model years covered. It is far easier, too, if you remove the rear wheels. On a vehicle that is a couple of years old, panel removal is a bit tougher than you might think. Hint: you need a very thin trim removal tool. Also, I had to trim a small piece of fascia underneath to allow the accessory to clear. Easy and unnoticeable.
United StatesInstallation on a GLC Coupe is pretty complicated since a lot of parts need to be removed. I found a Mercedes Certified Bodyshop that installed for a very reasonable price. If you live in the Houston area, the shop is 1488 Collision in Magnolia. I use a Thule T2 bikerack. My roadbike has plenty of clearance when it’s on the tray that is closest to the car. The rack is too close to the back of the car though. I can fold the rack up most of the way, but I cant lock the rack in the folded up position. To fix that i got a Kuat extender. I cut it shorter so i can use it in the shortest setting. Only drawback is that it wobbles more when driving since there is an extra connection now, but it’s not too bad. I gave 4 stars because I found it difficult to find a shop that I trust installing this on my AMG. Overall, I’m pretty happy with the product.
