Install went smoothly and was not as hard as I expected. There is a small screw in each fender liner that is at a difficult angle, but other than that the install went smoothly. I did have to relocate a cell phone antenna from the rear bumper protector as the hitch bar has no provision for that. I used two self-taping screws to attach it to a neighboring plastic trim piece (the antenna is very light). Not much trimming was needed as the MK 7.5s already have a cut out at the bottom of the rear bumper cover (not sure why) so I just made that big bigger on one side to allow access to the receiver key. Although the instructions say to discard it, I found I was able to reinstall the stock styrofoam crush piece after some liberal trimming. Perfect hidden hitch for the GTI! With the receiver removed, nothing shows from the back of the car. Also, the hitch bar is only about 10 pounds heavier than the factory bumper protector. Overall, I am very pleased with the Stealth Hitch which works great with my bicycle rack.
I am extremely happy with my Stealth Hitch for my GTI. I just hope that you make one for the MK 8 Golf as well. I recommended one to my friend who bought a BMW X5 and he loves his as well. Keep up the great work!
