Stealth Hitch team helped to replace the 2-inch rack receiver with a 1-1/4-inch one. This way I could use my existing bike rack. Loved the idea of upgrading the rack receiver at any time in the future. The hitch is invisible when not in use and it doesn’t ruin the beautiful BMW design. “Kick to open” function is available. I installed the hitch in about 4 hours, the process was a straightforward one. The only challenge was removing the bumper fascia because I needed someone else’s help with it. I also mounted the latch block before the factory beam while the access area was open. See steps (23-25). I did not install wiring as I was planning to use a hitch for a bike rack only. When traveling with bikes, some car intelligent safety settings might need to be adjusted (like disabling blind spot detection sensors). Great product overall, I would definitely recommend it.

Install was so easy even a caveman can do it. Don’t even know it’s there. Far better than the factory hitch set up.
